Dealing with disappointment
There comes a time in every person's life where they write a blog because they're bummed out. This is that time for me. I'm sure all of you have experienced frustration and letdowns in your own lives on a regular basis. What is your way of dealing with disappointment?
I've noticed everyone handles it a little bit differently. Not only that, but everyone tries to help other people handle it a little bit differently.
For instance, my husband knows I'm pretty down right now, so to make me laugh he got on my computer while I was in the other room and pulled up Magic Mike XXL on Netflix. He's also sent me lots of puppy videos lately, bless him.
I have friends send me funny GIFs, and friends just tell me to vent it all out. I have friends who try to distract me so I forget that anything is wrong.
What is your way of dealing with disappointment?
This isn't one of those blogs where I try to give you answers, like my favored "How to" posts. I'm genuinely curious, because it seems to me that we all have our own ways of dealing with the bummers life sometimes hands us.
So when you're having a bad day, or a bad week, or a bad month -- what do you do?
Here's some things I've heard from others or come up with on my own. I would love to add to the list. Please drop your suggestions in the comments:
Go for a walk
Listen to a favorite song
Watch a funny/stupid/cheesy movie
Read a book
Talk it out with a friend
Make a list of things you're thankful for
Write down what you're disappointed about
Write a short, emo blog like this one
Chime in, friends! And sorry for the short weekend post. Maybe, just maybe, a few of you can relate.
